FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
🇫🇷 Where are your products made?
All our creations are handmade and personalized in our workshop in France.
📏 How do I measure my pet's neck size?
It's simple: take a flexible tape measure (like a sewing tape measure) and wrap it around your pet's neck where the collar will naturally rest.
👉 You should be able to slide two fingers between the tape and the neck — this is the right adjustment for both comfort and safety.
📏 Do you offer custom sizing?
Yes, for free!
At Pattababoune, we custom-make neck sizes at no extra cost, regardless of your pet's size (dog, cat, or other).
👉 Simply indicate your pet's exact neck size in the box provided to the right of the product options before adding your item to the cart.
Each creation is then specially made to your measurements.
📦 What are the production times?
All our products are handmade in our workshop.
Without engraving: shipping within 2 to 5 business days.
With engraving: shipping within 3 to 10 business days.
Weekends and public holidays are not included in these times.
🖊️ Is the engraving durable?
Yes. Laser engraving is done directly on the material. Over time, some fading may appear depending on use, friction, or exposure to the elements. This does not affect the quality or durability of the accessory.
🐾 What is Biothane®?
Biothane is a strong webbing (a very solid material), made from cotton, Kevlar, polyester, and nylon. Unlike leather, it doesn't crack, dry out, and most importantly... it's unbreakable!
The result? A light, flexible, waterproof, easy-to-clean (a quick wipe with soapy water is enough) accessory that doesn't retain odors. All 100% vegan, durable, and approved by both furry friends and their humans 🐶.
🔧 And what about TPU / Hexa coated webbing?
Less known but just as effective, TPU or Hexa webbing is an alternative to leather with a slightly rubbery coating that is a bit more rigid for TPU.
It is resistant to water, wear, bacteria... and the wildest adventures.
Flexible, hypoallergenic, and washable with soapy water like Biothane, it is ideal for leashes or long lines that you want to keep for a long time, without compromising on comfort or safety.
🎨 Color Evolution – What you need to know
Our collars and leashes are made from Biothane, a strong and durable material. However, some colors, especially fluorescent, pastel, or very light shades (such as fluorescent pink, peach, or lemon yellow), may evolve over time.
This is a natural phenomenon and may manifest as:
- gradual lightening
- loss of vibrancy
- a contrast between the inside and outside of the collar
This can be accentuated by:
☀️ Prolonged sun exposure
💦 Repeated swimming
🧴 Use of anti-parasitic or chemical products
Our tips for preserving color vibrancy:
- Rinse with clear water after each outing, swim, or treatment
- Avoid leaving the accessory exposed to direct sunlight when not in use
- Store away from light (bag, drawer, box, etc.)
❓Why don't our Biothane collars have metal eyelets?
Because Biothane is designed to withstand use without reinforcement 💪
🔹 This material is very strong, waterproof, and durable.
🔹 In most cases, the holes remain clean, even with daily use.
🔹 Eyelets can weaken the material, damage the coating, or rust.
👉 But if your dog pulls very hard, a hole may widen slightly over time.
No worries: the collar remains functional at Pattababoune.
💡 Are LED lights bad for dogs?
Don't worry: as long as they don't emit UV rays, LED lights are safe for your dog.
They are even super useful for night or winter walks: you stay visible, and so does your companion 🐕💡.
🧼 How to clean your Biothane, TPU or Hexa products?
Good news: these materials clean up in a flash!
A little water, soap, a cloth... and voilà, it's clean.
Don't forget to wipe down the buckles to avoid any marks or deposits, especially after a muddy walk or a trip to the seaside.
