All buckles wear out over time, but those made of zinc alloy (silver, black, rose gold, and rainbow) are more sensitive to humidity, friction, and impact. Wiping them dry after contact with water is recommended. Gold-plated brass, on the other hand, is naturally corrosion-resistant and ensures excellent durability.
